The Best of NaPoWriMo

April is National Poetry Writing Month and for the past three years, I’ve looked forward to it. I had planned to participate this month, but it hasn’t worked out. Though I’ve only written about six poems (three of which have been posted to this blog), I did accomplish quite a bit in terms of writing. I completed a short story for an anthology that will be published this summer. I also completed a couple of editing jobs. So, altogether, it wasn’t an unproductive month.

If you are in a NaPoWriMo state of mind and are interested in reading some outstanding poetry, I have a few blogs I can recommend:

Jane Dougherty Writes

Heartstring Eulogies

Quilted Poetry

like mercury colliding

JanniStyles1

You can also visit the NaPoWriMo website and check out their list of participants: http://www.napowrimo.net/participants-sites/

I’m sure I’ve forgotten a few favorites, but I’ll add to this list as I stumble across them. I hope you all have a beautiful day full of love, wonderment, and poetry!

Thanks, Jane! When I see all the amazing poetry you write on top of your short stories and novels, I feel like such a slacker. You are always writing, it seems, and every poem you post is better than the last. I honestly don’t know how you do it, but if I had a fraction of your talent, I’d be a happy writer indeed.
